| dc.description.resumo | The anterior open bite interferes in the quality of patients’ life, mainly in the aesthetic, phonetic and functional issues. It occurs when there is a negative vertical overlap between the incisal edges of the maxillary and mandibular anterior teeth. Therefore, it is of major importance to treat this malocclusion before it gets worse, which requires a more complicated treatment. They are conducted in a specific way to each case, due to this malocclusion can be classified according to its severity. The aim of this study is to present some forms of treatment from the primary to permanent dentitions, presenting several therapy techniques that are used, focusing on discussing, through a literature review about the subject, what is open bite, its etiology and the more frequent treatments in the different dentitions stages. | En |

| dc.description.abstract | A mordida aberta anterior interfere na qualidade de vida dos pacientes, principalmente nas questões estética, fonética e função. É estabelecida quando há um trespasse vertical negativo entre as bordas incisais dos elementos superiores e inferiores anteriores. É de grande importância realizar o tratamento dessa má oclusão antes que o problema seja agravado, necessitando de tratamentos mais complexos. Cada caso é tratado de uma forma específica, devido essa má oclusão ter classificações de acordo com a severidade. O tema do presente trabalho são as formas de tratamento da mordida aberta anterior nas dentições decídua, mista e permanente, demonstrando as variadas técnicas de terapias utilizadas, tendo como objetivo discorrer, através de uma revisão de literatura, sobre o assunto o que é a mordida aberta, sua etiologia e os tratamentos mais utilizados nas diferentes fases da dentição. | en_US |
