| dc.description.resumo | The failure of endodontic therapy is due to several factors, including pathological, technical, anatomical and also the response of the patient's immune system. Generally, the greatest cause of failure is the survival of microorganisms in the apical portion of the tooth, especially Enterococcus Faecalis, which is resistant to calcium hydroxide. In the face of failures of endodontic treatments, the objective of this study was to perform a literature review to evaluate failure rates, the main etiological factors that can trigger endodontic failure and control methods after treatment. | dc.description.abstract | O insucesso da terapia endodôntica é decorrente de diversos fatores, entre eles, patológicos, técnicos, anatômicos e também à resposta do sistema imunológico do paciente. Geralmente, a maior causa de insucesso é a sobrevivência de microrganismos na porção apical do dente, especialmente o Enterococcus Faecalis, que apresenta resistência ao hidróxido de cálcio. Diante de falhas dos tratamentos endodônticos, o objetivo deste estudo foi realizar uma revisão de literatura, para avaliar os índices de insucessos, os principais fatores etiológicos que possam desencadear a falha endodôntica e os métodos de controle após o tratamento. Essa pesquisa bibliográfica foi realizada mediante periódicos eletrônicos e livros didáticos acervos da área da odontologia. | en_US |
