| dc.description.resumo | The leprosy is an old, infectious disease, caused by the leprosy bacillus, with slow and progressive evolution. It affects any kind of person, regardless of gender, color and age. It is transmitted through the airways and its diagnosis is clinical. The treatment is carried out free of charge by the public health service, being essential to interrupt the transmission and reduce sequelae left by the pathology. The study aims to highlight the relevance of physiotherapy in early intervention in the treatment of leprosy patients and to alert the state and society to the care and better interventions related to the pathology. It was a descriptive systematic review, with a quantitative approach, where articles were analyzed through research in Scientific Electronic Library Online (SCIELO), Latin American Literature in Health Sciences (LILACS), Virtual Health Library (VHL), from 2003 to 2020. It is concluded that it is important the qualification of the health professional, and the presence of the physiotherapist in the multidisciplinary team and the need gives the state intervention with the society about the disease. | En |

| dc.description.abstract | A hanseníase é uma doença antiga, infectocontagiosa, causada pelo bacilo de Hansen, com evolução lenta e progressiva. Acomete qualquer tipo de pessoa, independente do sexo, cor e idade. O meio de transmissão acontece pelas vias respiratórias e o seu diagnóstico é clínico. O tratamento é realizado gratuitamente pelo serviço público de saúde, sendo essencial para interromper a transmissão e reduzir sequelas deixadas pela patologia. Este estudo tem como objetivo destacar a relevância da fisioterapia na intervenção precoce no tratamento de pacientes portadores de hanseníase e alertar o estado e a sociedade em relação aos cuidados e melhores intervenções relacionadas a patologia. Tratou-se de uma revisão sistemática descritiva, com abordagem quantitativa, onde foram analisados artigos através de pesquisa em banco de dados Scientific Electronic Library Online (SCIELO), Literatura Latino-Americana em Ciências da Saúde (LILACS), Biblioteca Virtual em Saúde (BVS), entre os anos de 2003 a 2020. Conclui-se que é importante a qualificação do profissional em saúde, a presença do fisioterapeuta na equipe multidisciplinar e a necessidade de intervenção do estado com a sociedade sobre a doença. | en_US |
