| dc.description.resumo | Equine therapy is a therapeutic and educational method, with the use of the horse in an interdisciplinary approach seeking the development of people with special needs. Among the various types of special needs is Down's syndrome (SD); is the most common genetic cause of mental retardation. The objective of the present study is the creation of a horse farm with the equine therapy program on the psychomotor development of children diagnosed with DS. Aiming to meet the growing demand for this type of treatment in the region of Sinop, and all of northern Mato Grosso. Regarding the method, exploratory studies were developed on the theme, such as the history of equine therapy, the origin of equine therapy in Brazil, the choice of horse, and the three-dimensional movement that the horse provides to the students. With the analysis of correlates with the case study, three existing farms were analyzed, one international, one national and one regional, aiming at the comfort of the people who attend the place, access of the employees, accessibility, circulation, structures, dimensioning and quality of life of the animals. | En |

| dc.description.abstract | A equoterapia é um método terapêutico e educacional, com a utilização do cavalo em uma abordagem interdisciplinar buscando o desenvolvimento de pessoas com necessidades especiais. Entre os vários tipos de necessidades especiais destaca-se a síndrome de Down (SD); é a causa genética mais comum em pacientes com problemas mentais. O objetivo do presente estudo é a criação de um haras, com o programa de equoterapia sobre o desenvolvimento psicomotor de crianças com diagnostico em SD. Visando atender à crescente demanda deste tipo de tratamento na região de Sinop e todo norte do Mato Grosso. Com relação ao método, foram desenvolvidos estudos exploratórios sobre o tema abordado, como: a história da equoterapia, a origem da equoterapia no Brasil, a escolha do cavalo e o movimento tridimensional que o cavalo proporciona aos alunos. Com a análise de correlatos junto ao estudo de caso foram analisados três haras existentes, um internacional, um nacional e um regional, visando o conforto das pessoas que frequentam o local, acessos dos funcionários, acessibilidade, circulação, estruturas, dimensionamento e qualidade de vida dos animais. | en_US |
