Manual therapy is a widely used approach in physiotherapy to assist in cosmetic plastic surgery.
In the preoperative phase, it reduces edema, inflammation, and improves circulation. During
surgery, taping provides support to the tissues. In the postoperative phase, manual therapy
reduces edema, enhances healing, mobility, and alleviates pain, contributing to a faster and
more effective recovery. The methodology employed in this study involved a literature review.
Selected studies investigated the effects of manual therapy in the preoperative, intraoperative,
and postoperative stages of cosmetic plastic surgery. The results indicated that manual therapy,
including lymphatic drainage, tissue mobilization, functional tissue release (FTR), and taping,
provides significant benefits such as reduced edema, improved circulation, accelerated healing,
and pain relief. In conclusion, manual therapy plays an important role in the recovery process
of cosmetic plastic surgery. It has been demonstrated to be effective in reducing edema,
improving blood and lymphatic circulation, accelerating healing, and alleviating pain.
Therefore, the inclusion of manual therapy in the preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative
treatment protocols can bring significant benefits to patients undergoing these procedures. |

No pré-operatório, ela reduz o edema, inflamação e melhora
a circulação. Durante a cirurgia, o taping fornece suporte aos tecidos. No pós-operatório, a
terapia manual reduz o edema, melhora a cicatrização, mobilidade e alivia a dor, contribuindo
para uma recuperação mais rápida e eficaz. A metodologia utilizada neste estudo envolveu a
